Gadget Balancing Adjustments

  • ・Quick Recovery
Shortened the amount of time it takes to recover from attacks.
Despite offering a major advantage to players struck by an item, the amount of Rings lost ultimately causes them to finish in a lower spot. This should give players a better chance of maintaining their position in the race.

  • ・Acceleration Machine Kit
Shortened the amount of time it takes to recover from attacks.
The Acceleration Machine Kit grants a similar effect to Quick Recovery, so the same adjustments have been applied.

  • ・Wisp Chance UP
Wisp Chance UP made it too easy for players to collect some of the most powerful items in the game and place better at the end of the race, so the boosted drop rates of this gadget have been reduced.

  • ・Invincible Start
To help you know when the gadget's effect is ending, your Machine will flash right before it wears off.

Overview of New Gadgets and Changes in Ver. 1.2.0

In Ver. 1.1.2, two strategies were particularly dominant in online matches: relying on Drift Control gadgets to hold the lead, or using Item Control gadgets to steal the lead in the final lap. This made it difficult for racers in 4th–8th place to make a comeback.
Ver. 1.2.0 aims to give players in 4th–8th a better chance of winning, adding new Support and Item Gadgets while buffing existing ones.
Going forward, more adjustments will be made to balance gadget usage and win rates in online mode. Thank you for your support, and we hope you continue to enjoy Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds.

Other Changes

  • ・The AI Racer skins for Team Dimensions in Race Park and Silver and Blaze have been adjusted so they no longer look like they're invincible. They're now turquoise blue to match Silver's psychokinetic aura.

  • ・Bumping into machines on water made it difficult to turn. We've made curves easier to handle.

  • ・While drifting, items would sometimes launch in an unexpected direction upon use. Improvements have been made to input detection so items are more likely to hit their intended mark.

  • ・Adjusted network communications so that the server prioritizes synchronizing data that affects race results. This makes it easier for features like the invincibility from an Ultimate Charge to function correctly.

  • ・Strengthened anti-cheating measures in races and race results for World Match and other online modes on the PC version of the game.

Bug fixes

  • ・Fixed a bug where points from a previous Festival would appear in an upcoming Festival's in-game notice.

  • ・Fixed a bug where pressing the acceleration button would cause Auto Accelerate to stop for a few seconds.

  • ・Made the attack item warnings smoother and easier to follow.

  • ・Fixed an issue with Boost Type machines, where Charge Boost wouldn't activate when Air Drifting through a Transformation Gate.

  • ・Fixed issues where Steering Assist and Charge Jump could be used to dodge attacks from the King Boom Boo item.

  • ・Fixed an issue where the King Boom Boo item attacking an airborne target would cause his flames to display at awkward angles.

  • ・Fixed an issue where using the Laser item in certain situations would cause the visuals of Boost Type Machines to glitch.

  • ・Fixed an issue where using the Boost item during the end of Boost Frenzy would leave players unable to use items for the rest of the race.

  • ・Fixed an issue where using the Tornado item during Boost Frenzy would leave players unable to use items until the end of the Frenzy.

  • ・Fixed an issue where Dash Gate Frenzy would cause more Dash Gates to appear than intended on certain courses.

  • ・Fixed an issue in the Wonder Museum course where players could get caught on the Tornado obstacle and become unable to move.

  • ・Fixed an issue where homing items, like the Slicer and Homing Punch, wouldn't follow their targets when passing through the Travel Ring on the Sky Road course or the final portal in the Minecraft World course.

  • ・Fixed an issue in the Steampunk City course where players would sink into the ground if they moved into the train's track from the side.

  • ・Fixed an issue where using the Drill item in the White Cave course would cause players to sink into the ground.

  • ・Fixed other minor gameplay issues.

Improvements to Online Play

Thank you for your continued support of Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds.

Through Update 1.2.0, we have strengthened our anti-cheating systems to provide a fairer and safer online gaming experience for all players.

These steps aim to prevent players from compromising the integrity of the game and gaining an unfair advantage in World Match and Time Trial.

If cheating continues to rise in online games, we may have no other choice but to implement broader measures.

Your assistance in preserving fair play and ensuring the game remains enjoyable for all would be greatly appreciated.

We will continue to listen to community feedback and make improvements to ensure a fun and safe experience for all.
